QUESTION:

I have a man made stone product on part of my house. When it was installed they left mortar on the face of the stone. Can this be removed without damaging the stone?

These types of stone are made of cement, aggregate and usually iron oxide pigments. You need to be very careful when cleaning these products as you may remove some of the color. Always do a small test area first. Our recommendations are to use PROSOCO Light Duty Concrete Cleaner at a dilution rate of 1 part cleaner to 3 parts water. If not achieving satisfactory results try less water. You may also try PROSOCO Vanatrol at a dilution rate of 1 part to 10 parts water. This is a more aggressive product and we would recommend trying the Light Duty Concrete Cleaner first. Always use per mfg. recommendations and adhere to safety precautions.
